Anne-Sophie is a generous supporter of the Borrego Art Institute and will have a show in The Gallery, October 2025. Her contributions to Borrego Springs have instilled a sense of place through the arts and I am always thrilled to see what she creates next. The Borrego Art Institute proudly displays four of her pieces in the ArtPark where they are available for viewing 24 hours a day. Across the street her large murals welcome guests and locals each time they pass through town. Borrego Springs is a brighter and more creative place thanks to the installations.

I first met Anne-Sophie Gaudet in 2023 as she toured the ArtPark at the Borrego Art Institute. She expressed interest in creating a mural to support the mission of the gardens and over the next few months she created four captivating pieces of art that incorporated a variety of learning lessons for students. These images were reproduced on metal and are on display in the Learning Labs which are visited daily by tourists, residents and students.

Anne-Sophie was then commissioned to create a second project in collaboration with the Borrego Art Institute and the Anza Borrego Desert Natural History Association focused on the Gardens of Borrego. I have consistently been impressed by her artistic vision, technical skill, and ability to incorporate suggestions into her creations. Her work connects with the natural environment, drawing inspiration from the stunning landscape that surrounds Borrego Springs.

Public Art, Veterans Sports Parks, Tustin California Mural featured on Tustin's city website

We could not be happier with the mural that Anne-Sophie painted for us at Veterans Sports Park! She created a striking design that perfectly met the desired aesthetic, and she was pleasantly collaborative and responsive when we required a few small changes to the original concept. Our Public Art Commission has received several very positive comments, including from our Mayor, and they are already talking about how we could work with Anne-Sophie again on a future project.

ArtLift Grants: Utility Box Edition

The City of Palo Alto’s Public Art Program has made twenty ArtLift Grants available to Palo Alto and Bay Area-based artists to transform utility boxes into distinctive works of art throughout commercial corridors and residential neighborhoods of Palo Alto.
